4-Year Medicine; 2-years taught in the British Cayman Islands, 2-Clinical years in the UK or US
This course is open to post-graduate students and those who have completed the 1-year Medipathways Pre-Med.
This Medical School, founded in 1997, has the only hospital-integrated education and research programme in the Caribbean.
There are more than 1,000 successful graduates who have earned residencies and/or permanent licensure in 43 states in the US as well as in Canada, Great Britain, and numerous other countries.
Please follow the link to the GMC website to see the current recognition status of St. Matthew's University.
St. Matthew's state-of-the-art campus offers excellent anatomy, histology, microbiology and clinical skills labs along with beautiful classrooms, spacious study areas and student lounges and wireless internet connectivity.
This is a unique new opportunity for British and European students to study pre-clinical training (2 years) in the British Cayman Islands, one of the most appealing locations in the world. The clinical training (2-years) is usually taught at top teaching hospitals in the UK, Ireland or the USA.
The degree course is taught according to the US system and is therefore only 4 calendar years in duration. It has given British students the option to study medicine at a foreign university while remaining on British soil.
This 4-year programme is designed for selected graduates who have completed the M&D Pre-Med, run by Medipathways in London, or have a medical science BSc degree course.

Student life in the British Cayman Islands
With the diverse accents of Caymanians, there is no denying the hospitality of the local people, the superb weather, stunning beaches and great restaurants and night-life that make the transition to this new country easy, as well as exciting.
The country, surrounded by delicate coral reefs and gentle tropical breezes offers wonderful opportunities to scuba dive, snorkel and swim in tropical seas that are warm all year round. Having one of the lowest crime rates in the Caribbean, Grand Cayman provides students with the opportunity to explore, and discover the island freely.
Diners can choose from traditional Caymanian, Mediterranean, American, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Tex Mex restaurants, or even familiar franchises like Burger King, Wendy's, KFC and Domino's Pizza. Choices range from 5-star Sushi to pasta Alfresco served by serenading Italian waiters.
For socialising during the day and night, there are a number of coffee shops, beach-side bars, art galleries, theatres, music festivals, and beach parties and clubs where you can dance the night away.
