This is a unique new opportunity for British and European students to study Pre-clinical training (2 years) on the British Cayman Islands, one of the most appealing locations in the world! The clinical training (2-years) is then taught at top teaching hospitals based in the UK, Ireland or the USA.
The degree course is taught according to the US system and is therefore only a total of 4 calendar years in duration, with about half of the course taught in Britain or in the USA (according to the student's preference). British students can now opt to study medicine at a foreign university, yet the course will be taught entirely on British soil.
The 4-year programme is exclusively designed for selected graduates (with a B.Sc.) of a scientific/medical science degree course. Undergraduates must complete the M&D Pre-Med Programme at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. Therefore, post A/AS level undergraduates will spend a total of 5 years to complete the entire course, of which 3 years are taught in Britain.
For application to M & D Pre-Med, SMU (4-year Programme) applicants must submit full details of their academic background as requested. Decisions for these courses will be made on the basis of past academic achievements, references and predicted grades followed by a possible interview.
Successful applicants may then receive an offer of a place on condition of meeting certain academic grades or marks on course(s) currently being taken. If an applicant has satisfactorily attained the required academic grades then unconditional offers may be made.
In certain cases and at the discretion of the assessment board, where the exact academic background of an applicant cannot be verified, an entrance test may be set.
