This is a unique new opportunity for British and European students to study Pre-clinical training (2-years) on the British Cayman Islands, one of the most appealing locations in the world! The clinical training (2-years) are then taught at top teaching hospitals based in the UK, Ireland or the USA.
The degree course is taught according to the US system and is therefore only a total of 4-calender years in duration, with about half of the course taught in Britain or in the USA. British students can now opt to study medicine at a foreign university, yet the course would be taught entirely on British soil.
The 4-year programme is exclusively designed for selected graduates, (with a B.Sc.), of a scientific/medical science degree course. Undergraduates must complete the M&D Pre-Med Programme at the Univerisity of Sussex in Brighton, England. Therefore, post A/AS level undergraduates will spend a total of 5 years to complete the entire course, of which 3 years are taught in Britain.
In addition, the financial requirements and tuition fees for the 4-year course is also similar to the 6-year courses offered by Charles University in Prague. It is now possible to arrange Student Healthcare Loans especially for British students of Medicine or Dentistry via certain British banks. Students that wish to study at SMU, may be able to obtain a full Educational Loans, covering all tuition and living expenses throughout that course, provided they have a suitable co-signer bearing US citizenship. Please contact us for more specific details.
For this reason, SMU is a very new and attractive option for our applicants and competition for places is high.
