The information below provides some general information:
A unique 1-year programme taught at the University of Sussex, aimed for students who have a background in the sciences, but for whatever reason have not been accepted into Medical/Dental School.
Medicine and Dentistry are possibly the most competitive degree courses to apply for in the UK – at any university – and as such there can be no guarantees that you will gain entry to a UK medical school. However, we can offer what is arguably the best – the only – way to secure yourself a place in a Medical/Dental School.
11% of students who apply directly to UCAS receive an offer from a UK medical school. (About 1 in 9 applicants) To compare:
Over the past 4 years, 1 in 4 students who successfully completed the M&D Pre-Med were made an offer by a UK medical school.
For students who do not secure a place into a UK medical or dental school, the M&D Pre-Med provides progression onto the following courses:
- St Matthew's University, Grand Cayman (SMU)
- The Medical University of Gdansk, Poland (MUG)
- Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia (Comenius)
- Entry may be into their 2nd year after successful completion of the M&D Pre-Med.

- The Medical University of the Americas (MUA)

Many UK medical schools and dental schools receive many applications to study medicine or study dentistry and places are very limited. Therefore, the preparation of a UCAS application form for medical or dental school is very important.
