The Medical University of the Americas was established in 1998, to provide a comprehensive four-year program leading to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
The low student/teacher ratio allows for maximum interaction between students and professors.
Over the 4 year degree course, students are taught in English. The first two years are based at MUA. However, students have the valuable opportunity to spend their 2 years of clinical training at top hospitals in the USA, Canada, Europe and the West Indies.
The campus where students study their basic science is located on 10 acres of land generously provided by the Government of St. Christopher-Nevis. It is on the eastern side of Nevis, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The 4-year programme has been designed for selected graduates who have completed a science or medical science BSc degree course. Undergraduates must complete the 1 year M&D Pre-Med® Programme.
