While there is an increasing demand for doctors and dentists to work in the UK, it is extremely difficult to secure a place at a British Medical School. The 1-year M&D Foundation Programme taught at our college offers an attractive stepping stone.
The M&D Foundation Programme is aimed for students who are entering the world of Medicine and Dentistry for the first time, or students who did not quite meet the entry requirements for the M&D Pre-Med.
The course teaches students the basis of knowledge required to study medicine at university, and provides an understanding of how the human body works through the lens of physiology, genetics and molecular biology, cells and tissues, microbiology and chemistry.
Students who complete the course and attain a score of 65% or above can gain direct entrance to the M&D Pre-Med programme at the University of Sussex.
Alongside the in-depth preparation for studying medicine, this course also provides excellent advice on applications made to medical and dental schools, such as filling out your UCAS forms, United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) preparation and help with interviewing.
The M&D Foundation is the first part of a journey into medicine and dentistry, on a path with many opportunities.
