For September 2008 entry, we are securing places for 3 Medical Schools of Charles University:
Charles University, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic offering 6-year courses in Medicine, 5-year courses in Dentistry and 5-year courses in Pharmacy.
Over the years, Charles University has become very popular, with a large community of British, American and Scandinavian Medical Students. Charles University (Universita Karlova) is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. Teaching for over 650 years, it is a giant amongst other universities in Europe today.
It was founded by Charles IV, the Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor in 1348, with agreement of the Pope. By the end of the 14th Century, Charles University had already achieved recognition on a par with Universities of a similar stature in Bologna (Italy) and Sorbonne University in Paris.
Today, Charles University has 16 faculties in all, 13 of which are in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. It has five faculties of Medicine, 3 in Prague, and 1 in each of the cities, Pilzen and Hradec Králové. Medical degree courses taught in English lead to the title 'MUDr' which is equivalent to an 'MD' (Doctor of Medicine).
Travel within the Czech Republic is cheap, modern and reliable. The Bus Service in Hradec Králové is sufficient for students' needs. Some students rely on Taxi services or drive within the city.
The Czech Republic lies in the very heart of Europe. This attracts many students; educational exchanges, businesses and tourists form other countries.

Studying in central Europe provides easy access to famous cities of other European countries such as Berlin, Munich, Vienna or Budapest.

Some students may wish to transfer to another Faculty of Medicine of Charles University or another university of the Czech Republic. These students may want to move from the relatively quiet surroundings of Hradec Králové to the busy, capital city atmosphere of Prague, or vice-versa. As other Medical Faculties of Charles University or other Czech universities have similar curricula, transfers may be allowed after the successful completion of the first academic year only.
Studying in the Czech Republic provides great opportunities to develop students abilities to be more self-dependent and to study the course of their dreams at a quality university. Some of the best years of your life should be spent with the freedom and excitement that many of the foreign students in the Czech Republic have today.
